You're no longer holding on to that person, It's more like you're holding onto the memories, Stop thinking about what you could have been, And accept that its just not meant to be, They're somebody you used to know, Well at least you thought you knew, They turned out to be different, And it's hard to accept the truth, You're always focusing on the good, And never at the bad, You hold onto that hope, And that's what makes you feel sad, Thinking one day they will change, But when will that day come? Tomorrow, next week or maybe next month? Next year? If not you'll just wait for one more, But you can't do that anymore life's way too short, There just isn't enough time, To be waiting around, For someone that doesn't treat you right, For someone that makes you feel down, That couldn't see your worth, But that doesn't make you worth less, You're putting yourself under stress, Because you didn't know
